Abstract: Eating less can extend life-span in some organisms, but no one knows how food limitation exerts its effect. New work reported in the 12 April issue of Science shows that a gene linked to longevity overlaps with a dietary pathway, at least in fruit flies. The results suggest that different routes to long life share components.
