Abstract: After humans pass their reproductive primes, estrogen and testosterone concentrations wane. The decline appears to have far-reaching health consequences--on the brain, bones, muscle, and the circulatory system. As scientists tease apart the ramifications of sex hormone loss, they hope to fine-tune therapeutic replacement of those hormones.
