endocrine aspects of the aging process3 November 2001 amanda clarke I have been asked to provide a review on "the physiology and biochemistry of endocrine aspects of the aging process (excluding osteoporosis)", I am a complete novice at this and am having difficulty in sourcing relevent research documents. Has there been any recent developments in this area? I guess areas of relevence would include such data as, changes in thyroid activity and thyroxin levels with possible links to diabetes, the thymus and immunity, gonadotropin and sex-hormone levels or activity. The subject appears to be quite broad based and 'scatty', I would truly appreciate some guidance. Is there anybody there whom could point me in the right direction please? |
