Quest for general theory of aging

I wonder is anybody here interested in developing a general theory of aging and longevity?

As a first step in this direction, I'd like to call your attention to the article that will be published tomorrow (December 21 issue):

THE RELIABILITY THEORY OF AGING AND LONGEVITY. Journal of Theoretical Biology, 2001, 213(4): 527-545. Full text of this article is already available at: http://www.idealibrary.com/links/doi/10.1006/jtbi.2001.2430/pdf

In this article we suggested a general explanation of aging applicable both to biological systems and technical devices. We believe that it would be useful to eliminate intellectual apartheid between aging studies in biology and reliability engineering. Any comments and suggestions are welcome!
