SAGE KE Bulletin Board

Bravo! The kind of things I was searching for.

23 March 2002

Jack W Schlotte

Greetings,

This is why I signed up for SAGE KE. You have provided a valuable service. I have a lay person's interest in longevity studies and wondered if there is much in the scientific literature on the Hunza people in the Himalaya mountains. I read a popular book on them years ago and have seen little since. They seemed to be extremely long lived and should have been a ripe topic for serious research. The role of their locally grown, mineral rich apricots in their diet stuck in my mind as well as their high altitude toil in the fields relating to their blood's oxygen carrying abilities. Please let me know what you are aware of, and any pointers to other websites, etc. Thank you, Jack (aged 48.)
